Rasna Warah

Rasna Warah is a writer and independent researcher based in Malindi, Kenya. She is the author of five books: UNsilenced (2016), War Crimes (2014), Mogadishu Then and Now (2012), Red Soil and Roasted Maize (2011); and Triple Heritage. She has also edited an anthology titled Missionaries, Mercenaries and Misfits (2008).

Rasna is a columnist with the Daily Nation, Kenya’s leading newspaper, and has contributed to various national and international publications, including the UK’s Guardian, the East African, Warscapes and Kwani? Her research interests include the politics of aid, cities and urbanization, Somalia and questions surrounding identity in Kenya.
